Culture Open -project aims to create accessible and inclusive cultural services for immigrants and the disabled in Joensuu and Petrozavodsk. The project is funded by Karelia Cross-Border Cooperation -programme, which receives funding from the European Union, Finland and Russia.

The project’s Lead Partner is the Karelian Regional Institute of Continuing Professional Education of Petrozavodsk State University. In Finland, the project partner is Joensuu City Cultural Services.

The other project partners in Russia are the Centralized Library System of Petrozavodsk, Petrozavodsk City Cultural House, The Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia and Municipal Children’s Music and Choral School of Petrozavodsk.

Culture Open –project began in October 2018 and it will last until the end of 2020. The progress of the project will be followed in this blog. The blog will be updated by the Project Coordinator, Henna Karhapää, who works at the Joensuu City Cultural Services.
